Gérard Kuperfarb is the Executive Vice-President and Co-President of the Aggregates & Concrete Business for the Lafarge group
On April 6th, 2011 he was in Toronto for business. This is a well-known city to him as he lived almost 10 years here. As a member of AAGEF Ontario, he was kind enough to spend two hours with us to talk about his group and its strategy. It was particularly interesting to listen how Lafarge, as a material supplier, is getting closer and closer to the end-user and how much Lafarge is presently getting involved downstream.
AAGEF Ontario had invited its 16 school delegates (Arts et Metiers, Centrale, EDHEC, EM Lyon, ENA, Normale Sup, ESSEC, ESCP Europe, INSEAD, Mines, HEC, Polytechnique, Ponts et Chaussées, Sciences Po Paris, Supaéro, and Supélec) in order to have a good representation and interaction.
Besides the monthly networking events which started in January 2011, and which gathered up to 100 alumni, it was the first private event of AAGEF with a top executive of a French multinational firm. This will be repeated as opportunities arise.
